How to Clear the Clarify WIP Bin

WIP stands for "Work In Progress." If a Clarify case is reviewed and is missing something or needs follow-up with the customer, it will be returned to the creator's WIP bin and the status will say either Rejected or Returned. These require further action on the part of the agent that created the ticket. Sometimes Dr. DSL simply fails to close the Clarify case properly; it's safe to finish the job of closing them.

When clearing your WIP bin, be sure to check for any instructions that were added in the notes before manually closing the case. Additionally, if the case was one you sent up to Tier 1.5-Sykes or Tier 1.5-UEC, and the Condition says Open-Solving, someone in one of those departments may still be working on the case. Leave those alone. Otherwise, if no instructions were added and the case is not still being worked on, close the case as shown below.

Closing a Clarify case manually:
  1. Open Clarify (Start, All Programs, Clarify eFront Office8, Client for Oracle Server) and sign in with your Clarify login info.
  2. To obtain a license, click File, License, put a check in Clarify User License, and click Ok.
  3. In the left-hand pane, click the plus sign next to your CUID, then the one next to WIP bin, and click on your default folder. You should get a list of cases that are still open, shown below.

  4. Double-click on a case to open it, and check the notes section for any instructions that may have been left. If there are any, follow through with whatever needs to be done. For example, this case was returned and needs follow-up:

  5. If there are no added notes, click Close Task button.

  6. you will see a popup about "Proceed with close? Yes/No", click Yes.

  7. If you do have to follow up with a customer on an issue, type your notes on whatever needs to be done in the summary section. Then click the Close button. If you don't need to do anything, just click Close.

  8. You're done! The case no longer appears as an open case in your WIP bin. Be sure to check your WIP bin once a day to see if there is something you still need to follow up on.
