Adding a Sub-Account in MSN 9

MSN Premium subscribers sign up for one primary MSN email address but then have to option to create up to ten more secondary addresses. What's the difference? The primary account gets 2 gigabytes of email space, whereas the secondary accounts only get 250 megabytes. But hey, who can turn down ten free subscription email addresses? Here's how to add a member account in MSN 9.

  1. When signed into MSN with a primary account, click Help & Settings, and Accounts and Billing.

  2. Click Add Member Accounts

  3. In this screen the user can choose to simply associate a free Hotmail or previously owned MSN dial-up email address to the account, or create a brand-new MSN email address. Most users will want to select Create an MSN.com email address for the new member and click Continue.

  4. When creating a new MSN.com email address, fill in the new member's Name, regional zip code, correct date of birth, and then you can create a new email address. If the address you choose is already taken, the installation wizard will let you know when you try to continue. Select a password for the address, and then a secret question and answer in case the user ever forgets their password. Click Next.

  5. If the new email address is accepted, the user will be asked to review and sign the Service Agreement. The name MUST be signed EXACTLY as shown next to the text box, including capitalization or even any spelling errors. Click Accept.

  6. The user is shown a confirmation that the address has been added to their membership. Simply click Close and you're done!
